Members of the Montville Township Public Schools community are encouraged to participate in the search for the district’s new Superintendent of Schools by attending an in-person Community Input Session on Monday, September 20th, 2021, at 6:30 p.m.
The Input Session will serve as an opportunity for members of the community to share the characteristics, qualifications, and experience they value and would like to see reflected in the district’s next Superintendent of Schools. The information gathered at this session will be used to set necessary criteria for the superintendent search.
The September 20th Community Input Session will be held in the Montville Township High School Media Center at 100 Horseneck Road in Montville, New Jersey.
New Jersey School Boards Association is facilitating the upcoming superintendent search for the Montville Township Public Schools district. Field Service Representative, Charlene Peterson, who has extensive experience in the search for district superintendents, has developed a detailed plan for identifying and installing a new Superintendent of Schools for Montville Township by January 1, 2022. Peterson will explain the search process; the roles played by the Board, staff, and community in the process; and the timeline for the search.
Community input is a valuable component in structuring the district’s superintendent search. The information shared during the Community Input Session will be prioritized and will directly inform the Montville Township Board of Education in the superintendent selection process.
Discussion at the Community Input Session will center on the district’s strengths, goals, and identification of important leadership styles and professional characteristics for a new superintendent.
In addition to the in-person Community Input Session, a remote survey will also be distributed to the community. Information regarding the on-line survey will be provided to the community in the coming weeks.
Information gathered through the in-person Community Input Session and the survey, together with input from other focus groups, will be used to shape a variety of candidate review documents and the interview questions.
The in-person Community Input Session is scheduled for Monday, September 20th, 2021, at 6:30 p.m., in the MTHS Media Center, 100 Horseneck Road, Montville, NJ. Please note: In compliance with the Governor’s Executive Order 251, masks are required inside all school buildings.
