VFW to Honor Essay Winners from Lazar and MTHS on January 10 at 2PM

VFW District Awards Virtual Presentation

Sunday, January 10 at 2:00 p.m.

This Ceremony Honors Teachers and Essay winners from Montville Township Public Schools:

Trudy Coppola of Cedar Hill Elementary, Rick Crescente of Robert R. Lazar Middle, and James McManus of MTHS

MTHS senior Maria Papera and Lazar eighth grade student Kyle Phillips

 

MTHS senior Maria Papera and Lazar eighth grade student Kyle Phillips will be honored at a Virtual Awards Ceremony on Sunday, January 10 at 2:00 p.m.. Papera and Phillips were both awarded first place in national essay contests by VFW Post 5481 of Montville Township. The two also earned second place at the VFW District (county) level. Papera competed in the VOICE OF DEMOCRACY contest. Phillips addressed the theme: "What is Patriotism to Me?" for the PATRIOT'S PEN contest. 

The January 10 Awards Ceremony is open to the public. Montville Township Public Schools teachers Trudy Coppola of Cedar Hill, Rick Crescente of Lazar and James McManus of MTHS, will also be honored at the ceremony. The teachers have won Post and District competitions and are now competing in the VFW National Citizenship Educational Teacher Awards at the State level.
